Sidarhael | Campaigns & Lore
Welcome to the captivating realm of Sidarhael—a world steeped in history, filled with intricate politics, diverse geography, and a mosaic of beings from various lineages, cultures, and factions. This place offers well-defined frameworks as well as open avenues for your imaginative contributions.
Our first collaborative step involves understanding your preferences as a player while introducing you to the rich lore of Sidarhael. As you start to conceive your character, we'll engage in a constructive dialogue, fine-tuning your vision through suggestions and questions. This discussion may last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and can be conducted via chat, Zoom, or email. Sometimes, this occurs in the hour leading up to our first session, especially if we're using Zoom.
Don't think of your character merely as a set of stats, a race, a class, or an inventory list. Instead, envision a multifaceted individual with a backstory, relationships, and personal motivations that will dynamically evolve throughout the campaign. Effective communication with fellow party members will greatly assist in smoothly integrating your character into either an existing or a new campaign.

Remember, character creation isn't an isolated endeavor. Your character should be constructed with an awareness of the broader group dynamics.
Making a Well-Rounded Character:
Your character should possess clear reasons, motives, and opportunities to collaborate with the rest of the party. Whether it's blood ties, past alliances, or even covert missions like spying, your character should be able to constructively interact with others. Our ultimate goal is to assemble a team that can cultivate companionship, loyalty, and various other forms of connection—be it through blood, oaths, contracts, or personal ambition.
I expect your character to respect group cohesion by not stealing from teammates, by working collaboratively, and by contributing to the enjoyment of all players involved—including myself.
The more intricate your character's relationships are with fellow party members, the more engaging the campaign will be for everyone. This can involve bonds, backstories, loyalties, friendships, and even well-managed rivalries. While conflict can add layers of drama, it should never escalate to a point where it hampers the overall group experience. Drama is good, but catharsis is better.
